Terms of Service
Effective July 12, 2026
These terms govern your use of LegalPilot, a practice automation tool operated by Baldwin Industries. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
What LegalPilot is (and is not)
LegalPilot is a records and workflow tool for licensed Ontario lawyers: matters, clients, templates, clauses, document review, and an audit trail. It does not provide legal services or legal advice, to you or to the public, and using it does not create a lawyer-client relationship with us.
You remain fully responsible for your professional obligations, including those under the Law Society of Ontario’s rules — confidentiality, competence, supervision of work product, and any required client consents. LegalPilot is a tool; the lawyer is responsible for the work.
Eligibility and accounts
The service is intended for licensed Ontario lawyers and their staff. You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account.
Pricing
LegalPilot is free while in development. Nothing is charged and no payment method is collected. If paid plans are introduced, we will give existing users clear notice before anything is billed, and your data will remain exportable regardless.
Your content
Everything you enter — matters, clients, documents, templates, clauses — remains yours. We use it only to provide the service to your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train AI models.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, to store content you have no right to store, to probe or disrupt the service’s security, or to access another firm’s data. We may suspend accounts that do.
Service availability and changes
The service is provided “as is” while in development. We work to keep it available and to preserve your data, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. If we ever discontinue LegalPilot, we will give reasonable advance notice and a way to export your data.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Baldwin Industries is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while the service is free, is zero.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada.
